This is the story of my life

| Apr. 12th, 2008 03:49 am Björk She is simply amazing. I went to see her tonight, and was stood almost dead centre, second row. I am simply amazed by this woman. She is just so other-worldly it's truly an honour to get to see her in her element for nearly 2 hours. The highlights for me were Army of Me, which turned the place into a jumping laser-style rave and Cover Me, where Björk crept around the stage like a child playing hide & seek. Hyperballad is my favourite Björk song, and live it just gave me goosebumps. Every now again during the night, she would just grin massively and almost giggle a little - you could tell she was so happy to be performing and to be getting feedback from the crowd. She was always finish each song with a polite "zhank you!", looking at her bare feet, as if she was embarrassed by the clapping and cheering. A few times she kind of looked in my direction and smiled, so in my head she saw me singing (but I'm sure she didn't.)
In all a fantastic, unforgettable night (aside from the rubbish support act, who looked bored and pissed off to be there). Please give a me a few days to climb down from cloud 9. :D 5 comments - Leave a comment

| Dec. 29th, 2007 08:57 pm Best Albums of 2007 So my Saturday night plans have been ruined, hence I find myself with little to do.
Which leads to making this post ....
The vast majority of the albums I bought and listened to over the last 12 months were released a while ago, mostly in the '90's actually. But there were some great albums this year, so I'm limiting this post to those released exclusively this year...
( In no particular order, including some surprises....Collapse ) 3 comments - Leave a comment

| Sep. 14th, 2007 09:30 am Radio 1 - Maida Vale Studios, 14th September 2007 This entry concerns JUST the morning at Radio One - I took so many pictures that I had to split it from the concert reveiw to make this managable. Take pics if you must, but leave tags on please, and credit me where possible

These are very very long entries, I don't expect anyone to read all of this, it's mainly just for me [kind of like a diary if I still had one. ] And it's very picture heavy, so beware if you are on dial-up or a slow connection. ( Don't act like I never told you...Collapse ) 16 comments - Leave a comment

| Aug. 23rd, 2007 11:34 pm Kerrang Awards 2007 Here is my report on the 2007 Kerrang Awards
I have written this more like a travel-log than a straight review of the event, so it's slightly long. I'll bold band-names and things for people to skip over
and I'll add to this blog as and when I can upload photos videos and things :)
( Many pictures and words lie ahead....Collapse ) Current Mood: busy
